So, I interviewed at my nursing school of choice today. I was increadibly nervous, but I actually wound up doing a pretty good job.

However, I still didn't get in. :(

At least, not for the spring. You see, I haven't completed my Hep B vaccination series, and I cant be elegible without doing so. New students begin working clinicals at the hospital right away, and I can't be exposed to patients (or vice versa) until the series is done. The overlap was only two lousy months, but I still have to miss out. :<

I don't know what I'll do after December, though. I've finished all my required classes, and I'll have eight months with nothing to do. I guess I'll go find a job somewhere.

Alas. I'm going to go buy myself some chocolate and mope.

Oh, honey. *cuddles you close* I'm so sorry about this! All my good thoughts were for naught, it appears. :( I am totally unsurprised that you did a good job, but I'm still glad to hear it. Now at least you know that you can do it, and you'll know just what to expect for the next time. It'll never be as nerve-wracking as it was this time!

I totally understand wanting to start already, and get on with your life, but at the same time, a short break could be a really good thing. It'll give you some time just to chill, work at a non-demanding job (last time ever, because nursing will be very demanding, even though it'll also be rewarding), have time for fannish stuff, and hopefully earn a bit of extra cash (art supplies - yay!).

That said, you deserve a period of moping before you starting pollyanna-ing. :) So definitely indulge in lots of chocolate and have a good sulk. I'll be around all weekend if you want to chat/email, and if there's anything at all I can do to cheer you up, do please let me know! (I can give you a tiny taste of the christmas fluff by email if you'd like...)

*offers hugs & kisses & virtual chocolate*

Thanks Sky. *accepts cuddles* And your good thoughts are never for naught :) I have to admit it is nice to know that I can handle the interview process without making a total ass of myself.

I was talking with my mom on the phone about how this could be seen as an opportunity. For example, I'm only two or three classes away from completing pre-med requirements. Maybe I'll take those classes in the spring and study for the MCATS, and apply for med school. I'm not saying that I could get in, but as long as I've got nothing else to do, I may as well give it a shot, right?
Or maybe I will get a little time to chill and accomplish a personal, non-school related goal, like get started on learning spanish or something.

For now, though *eats virtual chocolate and mopes a bit more*

I'd love to chat this weekend, and e-mailed Chirstmas fluff = yay! I definitly want a sneak preview! If anything could cheer me up right now, its Jeeves and Wooster fluffy stuff!

Oh, I like the idea of taking a shot at med school. And don't be silly - of course you could get in! You just need to think about whether that's what you want - of course it's an important and prestigious profession, but talk about a grind. I don't think I'd have the stamina for it, or the desire to give up so much of my life for so many years. Still, if that's what you really want, then absolutely go for it!

If you decide not to do that, then a non-school goal is an excellent thing to pursue. And chilling is always of the good as well. Whether you choose med school or nursing school, this will be your last chance for a while just to kick back and enjoy some free time, so definitely take advantage of it. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about on this one!

I'll be signed onto googletalk for most of the weekend, so whenever you want to chat, just pop on. If I'm not there, shoot me an email and if I'm around I'll hop on. As soon as I get home, I'll type up the pages that I've written up in the good ol' slash notebook and then I'll send them over to you. Warning - they're VERY rough, so don't have high expectations, okay? :)

Well, I just think it would be wise to keep my options open, you know? No harm in trying, and I could always choose to do nursing anyway. Either way, free time sounds just lovely. I could spend it catching up on my long list of fannish pursuites :)

I'll sign on to chat sometime tomorrow, I think. I'm feeling kind of exhausted right now as it is. It's that kind of "end of an emotional tention" sort of tired.

And I'm willing to bet that even your rough drafts are post worthy :)

Hey, options are always good. Now where have I heard that recently? If only I could remember... ;)

Oh, I wish I had a good amount of time to catch up with my fannish pursuits - as you know, that list is ever-growing, thanks in no small part to you, my dear! *g*

I totally understand your exhaustion. Take it easy tonight, and don't do anything more strenuous than pushing the buttons on your tv remote. :) I'm going to go out tonight with my dh anyway and see The Illusionist. We haven't had a date night in a while. :)

Ha! You'd lose that bet, my darling. You'll get to see the embarrassing first cut, as it were, with brackets and anachronisms and all. Only a few pages, as I said. But I don't know if I'll have time to type it before we leave for our date, so if I don't get to it tonight I'll bung it over in the morning.

Hm... we seem to have trouble remembering things, don't we? I wonder if this might point towards some kind of memory problem..? :)

Oh, The Illusionist! Cool, I've heard that it's really good. I think I'll try to get to the movies sometime this weekend too. Maybe to see "This Film is Not Yet Rated." Next week, i'm going with a friend to see "Marie Antoniette" (Can... not... SPELL!). I haven't been in ages, it seems. Not since the intentionally abismal "Snakes on a Plane" (yes, I did see it, but it wasn't my idea :)

Oh, get around to bunging it over whenever you feel like it, hon! I must say, I apreciate the slashy pick me up! And don't be embarrassed by the first cut. After all, you've seen my un-proof read, unfixed fanfiction.

I can't wait to see it!

BTW, may I have permission to tie up your icon?

Memory problem? Gee, I don't know... It sounds vaguely familiar...

Just got back - The Illusionist was really good. I enjoyed it a great deal. And who knew Jessica Biel could actually act? Okay, not much in the way of acting was required for her role, but still - at least she didn't suck. And Edward Norton was great, and of course Paul Giamatti stole the show. Very entertaining movie. I hadn't been to the movies in ages. Only one person had their cell phone go off in the middle, which was an improvement from the usual two or three, but it still ticks me off and totally throws me out of the film. Grrr.

Heh, Snakes on a Plane. Managed to avoid that one. Marie Antoinette looks like it might be interesting, and we saw a preview for a movie called Catch a Fire that looked really good.

I'll send it over as soon as I can. Probably sometime tomorrow mid-morningish my time. :)

Oh, by all means tie up my icon, although if you try you may find yourself tied up instead. *g*

Yes, i definitly must get back to the movies!

A cell phone, huh? I hate that. Once I was stitting in a theater (during V for Vendeta, I think) next to a group of people who were all holding a conversation with each other (loudly), and one of their cells rang. They answered the phone and proceeded to have a conversation in the middle of the theater! I finally had to turn to them and say, "Um, excuse me, but I paid to see this movie." Not that that shut them up. Good movie, but I nearly wound up wasting my eight dollars thanks to them.

Re: Snakes on a Plane- I wouldn't recommend it, unless you find yourself high and in need of a cheap, repetative laugh.
Haven't heard of Catch a Fire, but I'm looking forward to MA. It's getting good reviews so far, anyhow.
I'm sort of interested in seeing Hollywoodland, if for nothing else than to confirm that Ben Affleck actually can act. Maybe I'll wait and rent it, though.

*Awaits fanfiction patiently*

Hee! Jeeves is tricky like that, but that's okay. He can tie me up anytime!

Oh, I HATE it when people answer their cell phones and talk in the middle of a movie. And I hate confrontation, so I never want to say anything, but I can't concentrate at all on a movie when someone's talking... grrr. That's one of the reasons I avoid going to movies in the theater lately.

I'm just about to start typing up those pages of your fanfic now. In the meantime, though, don't forget about lucylou's new fic, which I linked to on my recent LJ entry. You said you were going to wait on that, so now might be a good time!

I am SO okay with being tied up by Jeeves anytime. Ohhhhh, yes. *wibble*

Yep, I read it this morning- great fic. Loved it. Too bad it's not on Lj - I don't like reviewing with my old FF.net account. i haven't used it properly since I was 17.

*continues to wait patiently*
