Nursing School and Shortbus

Hi all,
So, yesterday I embarked on a journey. A journey of knowledge, discovery, showing up at 5:50am to catch the shuttle, and (apparently) occasionally stripping to my underwear in lab and allowing my fellow students to exam me.
My friends, I have begun nursing school.
No, seriously, what I began two days ago was the world’s dullest orientation. Basically it was speaker after speaker telling us such thrilling facts as how to use the library, what to do if we have a nervous breakdown, and a forty minute film that basically boiled down to, “Don’t talk about the patients and their various illnesses.” By the end of the second day, we were finishing up an hour and a half long presentation about the campus tech support and my brains began leaking out my ears.
In two years it will all be worth it. In two years it will all be worth it. In two years…
On the plus side, I bought (on a complete whim) the movie “Shortbus”. I’ve never scene a more explicit movie that wasn’t in the special back room at the video store. And yet, somehow, the graphic sex acts weren’t arousing. Instead, I identified so much with the message of emotional isolation (especially James’s story) that I bawled through damn near half of it. I watched a man come on his own face, and it reduced me to tears.
There’s a scene in "Shortbus" where three men have sex, and one eats out another’s ass. If you can handle seeing things like that, please rent this movie.
