Hi people,
I just got back from an AWSOME trip to see
skyblue_reverie in the California bay area. First off, it was wonderful to see her again (yay!) and I can't wait until we get to visit again. Secondly...OMG, I had SO much fun! We did everything! We went to San Fransisco (of course) and had Dim Sum, and Skyblue taught me how to use chopsticks - which is quite the accomplishment, seeing as how I tend to drop food when I use a fork. Then we shopped a bit, and later went to a really cool theater to see "28 Weeks Later" and eat pizza. We spent a day at Goat rock beach, which was windy and freezing, and I got to put my feet in the Pacific for the first time. Then we went back to San Fransisco the next day, and I don't think I've had that much fun in years! We went to China Town, Fisherman's Warf, an aquarium, toured a WWII sub, Pier 39, Giradelli Square (awsome sundaes, btw), and road the cable cars everywhere. Oh, it was so great!
We also tripped over to Berkely, which was awsome (gorgous campus) and had cool jewelry and t-shirts everywhere. I got a pretty journal in Plesanton. On Thursday, we headed across Golden Gate Bridge and over to Muir Woods, where we walked around a bit and saw MASSIVE redwoods. Then we stopped on Castro street for some Thai before going home and collapsing on Sky's couch in an exausted stupor.
In between all of this fun, I got to eat some of the best food EVER (*Goes in quest of Indian food back home in Texas*) including Chinese, Japanese, Seafood, Thai, and Mexican. We also watched the entire series of Firefly + Serenity, some MST3Ks, a couple of Clerks cartoons, a bit of Buffy, and 28 Days Later, which I had not seen.
All of the Bay area is lovely and beautiful; California smells pine fresh and best of all, my SKYBLUE is there!
Best. Trip. EVER.
I've still got to develope the pictures (yes, I am still sans digital camera), but I may scan some of them in later.

Date: 2007-06-16 11:56 pm (UTC)I've been to San Fran but not to several things that you have.
I wish I could visit a certain one of my LJ friends.
Saving up, in fact.

Date: 2007-06-17 06:59 pm (UTC)I feel like I was there in some ways, too, cause I got to hear about your adventures from both you and Sky! Hee for me!
And now I get to spend this week showing her the highlights of where I live (not *nearly* as interesting as SF, but fun in its own way ).
Glad you had a great time, and glad you had safe travels, my dear!

Date: 2007-06-19 02:58 pm (UTC)I had SUCH a fabulous time with you in SF. You have to come out and see me again once I'm in the new apartment! And once it cools down I'll go out there again. :p
Thank you so so so much for coming to see me. It was an absolute blast. I am glad we got to do all the touristy things - it's been years since I've done some of those things!
In case you find an Indian restaurant, here's the dishes we had:
Lamb Samosas (those little meat pastry thingies)
Chicken Tikka Masala (chicken in that creamy yogurty sauce)
Navratan Korma (mixed vegetables in cream sauce)
Rogan Josh (lamb curry)
Saag Paneer (spinach with cheese cubes)
Naan (flatbread)
Rice
Okay, now I'm hungry for Indian again. :P
Hugs and kisses and cuddles to you, my dearest, and I miiisssssss youuuuuuuu!

One of these summers, I'm going to drag you to Padre Island on our family vacation ... if you don't melt in the sun, we'll consider it a success. :)The view from the condo is fantastic!
Now you've gone and made me hungry!
