...Owwwww...
Sep. 14th, 2006 01:43 pmI feel like a human pincushion.
Yesterday I had to get two vaccinations and a blood test, and I woke up this morning with seriously sore arms. I wouldn’t mind so much if it weren’t for this damn backpack that weighs about a hundred pounds, or the fact that I’m stuck at school for about six hours with nothing (much) to do, besides complain on lj.
If nothing else, there is one pretty good reason my arms hurt- the wall climb. No, not some horrible gym class exercise designed to humiliate the fat kids. About twice a year, the army sets up a recruiting table at my college, along with a 40 foot wall that the students can attempt to climb, if they wish to do so. Yesterday, they showed up again, and I summoned my courage and scaled to the top. Freaky doesn’t describe how it felt to be up there. I know, I was tethered to the wall with a bungee rope, so even if I fell, I wouldn’t fall fast, but you have a way of forgetting that sort of thing 40 feet above blacktop. Probably it wasn’t the smartest move, seeing as how I can barely lift my laptop now, but I’m still rather proud of myself.
